2008 Alfa Romeo National Convention

In case you didn’t know already, your friendly neighborhood Chicago Chapter of the Alfa Romeo Owner’s Club will be hosting the convention in 2008. That’s right - next summer all the fun will be in our own backyard.

Most importantly, we hope that everyone in our chapter participates in some way because there is something special about being a member of the Alfa Romeo club. Of course, a large part of it is the cars. They are unique, fun and interesting. Another
part is the owners. They too are unique, fun and interesting. Let’s show the world just how special this club is!

Sunday, June 15 Through Tuesday 17, 2008
  • Pre-convention FANGIO tour
Wednesday, June 18, 2008
  • Registration opens Wednesday morning
  • AROC Board of Directors Meeting – 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Tech for track day participants in the parking lot – 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM
  • Welcome reception – 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Thursday, June 19, 2008
  • Illinois River Valley driving tour – 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM approx.
  • Track event at Autobahn Country Club – 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Touring at Autobahn track - lunchtime
Friday, June 20, 2008
  • Autocross at the Odeum convention center – 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM
  • Bus trip to downtown Chicago – 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM
  • Tech sessions (details TBA) – 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM
  • Jewelry “tech session” – time TBA
  • Skyline Cruise on Lake Michigan – 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM. You must be 21 years of age to attend.

  • Concours at Cantigny park – 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Gimmick Rallye – 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM
  • Banquet in Marriot ballroom – 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Sunday, June 22, 2008
  • Early bird Lake Shore Drive tour – 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM
  • Awards brunch in Marriott ballroom – 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM
Throughout Convention (Wednesday onward):
  • Club history memorabilia exhibit
  • Art show / model car show
  • Vendor room
  • Self-guided tours and outings to local points of interest
