New Glarus Hill Climb and TourSaturday, May 1 – If you haven’t previously been to New Glarus for the vintage hill climb event run by our neighboring Wisconsin chapter, you missed a real treat! This relaxed, low key event inspires participants and spectators alike to bring along a host of interesting cars. Last year the eclectic selection included a 1920’s Rolls Royce, a Maserati-engined Citroen SM, a 1929 Ford racer, and a Devin, to name but a few, as well as numerous gorgeous Alfas. The action takes place around the Chalet Landhaus hotel on Wisconsin state highway 69. We suggest you arrive early if you want to watch the cars take to the hill. When the action is done, why not stick around for the CAROC tour? Have lunch at one of the inns close by, and then we will regroup at the Landhaus, setting off at about 1pm. Southern Wisconsin is chock full of fantastic driving roads with little traffic and great scenery. Now that spring is in the air its time to get your car out of mothballs and out for a fling! After a couple hours of attacking the curves the tour will head back toward Chicago. If you are interested, please contact Dave Johnson at 224-715-5052 or e-mail Dave at David.R.Johnson@motorola.com. He will provide further information including time and location.
