NADS Spring Tour –Sunday May 16th

Last May, a group of CAROC enthusiasts embarked on a mission to make a difference in children’s lives. Unofficially creating a group called CIAO, the group’s first focus was NADS, National Association for Down Syndrome. The Tour was driven in honor of Alex, the beautiful son of Marco and Aileen Battistoni.

On that beautiful Sunday morning, a group of 14 Italian cars gathered at the Annie Glidden Road Oasis. Prior to leaving, we gathered for pictures and kicked a few tires. Each car donated a check of $25 made out to NADS. Since we ended up gathering over $1100.00, it was obvious that the good news spread to other car enthusiasts and friends. The donations were sent to NADS and they recognized our effort nationally! Everyone attending realized how lucky we were and how fortunate to be able to enjoy our cars and throw in a half-tank of petrol for a great cause!

The destination was Galena, the drive was fantastic and the group involved had a phenomenal time. We walked around the quaint picturesque town, had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed each other’s company. I hope we can re-create the fun and enjoyment again this year. Please attend this wonderful cause, donations are NOT mandatory. So get your car ready, and look forward to a great drive.
